New toys are fun!

So I went out and about taking shots with my new EF 50mm f/1.4 lens and the following is the result of that venture! Like I said in my previous post... my entire concept of Aperture, DOF and the like are *COMPLETELY* screwed up thanks to this lens, haha. BUT... I look at it as something exciting, rather than something frustrating. I took these shots trying to keep in mind the Image Aspect "Aspect of the Week" theme (www.imageaspect.com), which was Minimalism. After I was done, I wondered to myself if I really understand the concept of minimalism... or if I'm getting it slightly confused with abstract... but... to be honest, it didn't really matter to me. I was just having fun. :D Here is my favorite shot, as well as the submitted shot for AOTW:

It was a COMPLETELY mind f**k, seeing HOW GOOD this lens is, in comparison to my EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 kit lens! Not that I ever thought that the kit lens was *amazing*... but now that I have something to *compare it* to... HOLY COW! Like I said earlier... I had a COMPLETE photogasm! I *CAN NOT WAIT* to take this lens out to a gig! (And I only attempted to zoom ONCE the entire time I used it today! hehe...)

If you're curious to see some of the other shots I got today, feel free to check out the set on flickr! :)
