Good things are a'comin'!

Ohhhh.. It's been an interesting week or so. I sort of hit a slump... not a *photography* slump so to speak, but a *life* slump that affected my photography drive.

I had some personal stuff to deal with, which left me with little desire to do much of anything... but I'm pulling myself back onto my feet and good things are a'comin'!

This past weekend was the 4th of July BBQ that my husband's parents have every year.  His uncle came to the house toting a large Lopro bag and when he pulled out the canon with the cream colored lens attached my eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning!

I ran upstairs... grabbed Tewey (hey look at that... I finally came up for a name for him ^_^  After 2 months... there it is... you can't force these things you know... they need to be spontaneous XD) and ran downstairs to talk shop with Uncle Mike.  :D

God bless the man, but he really has no clue what his camera can really do.  He has a rebel XS but he has it set to program... which... okay, I'm not hatin', but it told me right away that he just liked his awesome expensive camera with awesome expensive lenses and the way his pictures came out because of them... I even tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and didn't speak to him as if he didn't know the first thing about photography, but his statements thereafter proved to me that might just be the case, haha.

Nevertheless, we had a good conversation and I did some bonding with at least *one* of the new "in-laws" so.... yay.

But the best part?  Not only did I get to play with an L lens and a macro lens for as long as I wanted, but I also mentioned how I need to get a flash and Mike said that he had one that he never uses and that I could have it!

I have no idea what it is... but dude... free is free is free!  I'm not going to say no to that!  haha

So hopefully I'll be able to go pick that up soon and start learning with it.

In other news, I also wasn't going to get a chance to play with the new 50mm f/1.4 at a gig for at least another 2...3... weeks because of the way Keith's schedule was lined up... but one of *my* gigs for this Saturday got canceled (which I'm very happy about... it was unpaid and too far of a drive for *being* unpaid...) and now I get to go to one of Keith's gigs and use mah new toy and see how it does!
